Maria Vasilescu, a Political Science graduate – French division ( University of Bucharest), has extensive experience in working in health promotion, international health communication, advocacy, organizing national and international business/scientific events and journalism. She organized more than 100 international and national conferences, workshops, debates, trainings, press conferences in Bucharest, Vienna, Brussels, London and Athens on health strategies and policies or medical topics. She also initiated Media trainings and Media Summer Schools for healthcare journalists (in Romania and Belgium). She works with Patient Organizations, Industry, Medical Societies and authorities. She has an important experience in inviting to Romania well-known foreign stakeholders, Key Opinion Leaders or Nobel Prize Laureates ( in healthcare or economy).
As owner of Quinn Media-the Medicine Media, she is also the Publisher of the Health Policy Journal, under the Auspices of the Equity in Health Institute, monthly printed publication distributed in Romania, Republic of Moldova and Brussels official institutions ( European Commission, European Parliament etc). Through this unique publication in Romania, she promotes good international practice, business strategies and success stories from international and Romanian Key opinion leaders and Officials.
For the last almost 5 years, she was the general manger of a company that is the publisher of British Medical Journal, the Romanian Edition and she managed also Medica Academica Journal, under the auspices of the Romanian Scientists Academy.
Maria worked also in the mass media – ProTV, Antena1, Radio Europa FM, Radio Romania Cultural – the Science Division.
Maria is an IVLP Alumna on Woman’s Health ( USA, 2014) and accomplished many trainings and courses on Health Financing ( WHO, Barcelona 2013), chronic disease management or advertising, business communication, healthcare public relation, health promotion, fund raising, etc.
She is fluent in English and French.
